Perspectives

HPC International School offers a coherent school concept starting from the Primary Years Programme, continued in the Middle Years Programme and culminating in the Diploma Programme, which directly prepares for the admission to university. Elements of teaching and methodologies are coherent throughout the programmes, applied age-appropriately and connect all school years.

Advantages of the IB concept

IB is one of the most advanced, up-to-date and student-centered educational programmes in today’s world, which is taught in more than 5600 schools in 159 countries (January 2023). Source: „Facts and figures.“ Ibo.org, 05 Jan. 2023, www.ibo.org/about-the-ib/facts-and-figures/

The transition from one IB school to another can be organized smoothly worldwide if needed.

A modern education can no longer be solely content-based, because content is constantly becoming outdated, changed or must be understood in new contexts. Furthermore, artificial intelligence is starting to replace humans more and more. Therefore, IB programmes focus on the development of skills which help the students to become problem-solvers and lifelong learners.
In a nutshell: IB students learn how to learn.

While doing so, they develop skills independently from contents, which they will need urgently to succeed at university and in their future lives: Research Skills, Communication Skills, Collaboration Skills, Self-management Skills and Social Skills.

The IB Diploma is widely recognized at universities worldwide and top universities offer preferred conditions to IB students. Since September 2022 one of our alumni has been studying on a full scholarship at New York University.

Recognition in Germany

Based on the decision of the Kultusministerium in Germany the IB Diploma is equivalent to the Abitur and qualifies students to apply to all German universities.

The subject choice at our school is such that the criteria for study in Germany are met.

                                           Career Counselling

Starting from grade 9 we support our students to reflect on their strengths and talents and to develop their first plans for what to do after IB. We of course also support them in choosing what subjects they take in the IB Diploma Programme. In grades 11 and 12, the career counsellor offers special workshops in which students learn how to strengthen their application as well as when and where to compile the required documents. Our career counsellor is available to support them during all steps of their application processes, regarding the recognition of the IB Diploma in Germany and the legalization process of the IB Diploma in specific countries. International universities regularly visit our school and present their programmes to students and parents.
